Gary Gygax, co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons failed his final saving throw and passed away today at the age of 69...
Rest in peace good sir, I can never thank you enough for the unmeasurable hours of enjoyment you helped bring to my adolescent and teen years... |

This saddens me, but damn..I can hear all the saving throw and lost initiative jokes cranking up....you just wait :)
I hear the "critical failure" jokes warming up. I hope he'd have enjoyed them.
Already got one from one of my old gaming buddies, reminding me that a resurrection spell will cost CON points.
A Legend has passed! rest in peace
Just heard about this on Fark. Un-be-fucking-liveable. I owe a lot to that man, God bless him.
Adolescent and teen years? I just played a game 2 weeks ago... of course, it's a bit ironic that it was canceled indefinitely last week...
I too spent many of my teen years playing the game I learned at scout camp. I have toyed with the idea for several years about getting back into a game. I don't think I will now.
That is so very sad. At least he lived a long life. He left his mark on the world. He made many people happy. He lived a good life. | |
